What You Can get From Coaching

The standard answer is to point out that a serious competitor in any field is coached to improve their performance. Life is the ultimate arena of endeavor. Life is a "take." You don't get a do-over as far as we know, so you might as well put your stamp on this life and enjoy it to the max.

Most people lead cramped and narrow lives -- not because they chose them -- but because they didn't keep pushing aside the walls of the box that kept forming around them. It happens to all of us -- as soon as a pattern develops it begins to harden, with us inside it. If you want a champion's life you need to get outside help and support, a lift when you need it and a caution when it's useful.

The path to a full and free life is the constant search for expanded horizons, and new ways to give and receive the joys of this life. And that's the edge that people get from coaching.

I'm currently coaching individual clients regarding personal and business performance.

Three Reasons Why I Can Help You Master The "Inner Game."

1) I'm an inventor/enginer and I study how things work. Including brains.

I wasn't born with the understanding that our brains are the most important part of our performance. This was a hard lesson for me and one that I didn't learn overnight.

It was years more before I discovered that if you can figure out how a process works -- whether it's a machine operation or a human behavior -- you can improve it through skillful engineering. ...

And in the case of human behavior, that means the study of cognitive science and neurolinguistics. I do that on a continuing basis, because we are not just our minds -- we are "body-minds." Each part affects the other. Sounds complex, but it's actually easier than you might think, because my "engineering" approach is user-friendly. It fits into the way we've been operating all of our lives. With my methods:

* You can increase your income -- whether you're in a job or running your own business.

* You can increase your business -- most businesses can increase their size easily and quickly.

* Most importantly, you can even increase satisfaction -- in your customers, your mate, and yourself.

If you want to.

I know because I've been doing it for myself and others for years -- and it's easy and fast.

I've spent much of my life pursuing engineering in four fields - electrical, mechanical, pharmaceutical and neurological (think of that last area as the study of the brain/mind connection - the "Inner Game" at a concrete level).

During much of my career I learned how to succeed from journeymen that had already "been there and done that." So I needed to learn how to tell the difference between someone's "B.S." and useful information. That's where my fascination with engineering was born.

Now I'm one of those "been there, done that" guys. Check the "about Tom" page for more specifics on my background.

2) These principles have worked for me successfully for years.

On my path from high-school dropout to high-tech CEO I've picked up a number of insights that lead to success and happiness.

In engineering there is a term called "elegance." It means simpler and easier is usually better. I'm a fan of the easy way where possible, especially since much of the time I discovered the easy way by doing things the hard way.

I would like to save others from wasting their time that way -- I've already done it, so why should you?

During the last couple of decades I have been helping people who wanted a "peek under the tent" at what was going on in their heads. And now I want to share my experience with others who can make use of it for their own advantage.

3) There's an easy way to explore what may be useful to you without spending your money or my time.

I invite you to browse the rest of the site, particularly the "Blog" articles. There's a lot of free information here that might be useful to you and you're welcome to it.

You can also sign up for my "Tips" Newsletter, free by email. In the future I will also offer an expanded postal version available by subscription.

Sign up now and you'll receive only the free information. You won't be subscribed to anything with a price until you get another invitation from me and you fill out a subscription form.

If you want coaching we need to find out whether I can do you any good without spending a lot of time figuring that out. I'm not a good fit for everybody. I'm an engineer by trade so I tend to be more direct than, say, a minister or psychotherapist. Most of what my clients get is quick empathetic insight that they put to use immediately.

Also, my calendar is pretty full with writing and travel. And Vikki (my wife) and I have six grandchildren and I enjoy watching them grow up.

So if you want to explore coaching with me, email or fax me with your background and the situation you're facing, and I'll review it and get back to you. And we'll go from there.

Thanks for stopping by,

Tom
